Los Agaves (on De La Vina)

Summary: I love this place, in general they have great food at a reasonable price.

Los Agaves Burrito
I expected the namesake to be excellent, but was pretty disapointed. The sauce they used on the burrito was too sweet, and so was the salad dressing. The seafood inside had a bit of a 'fishy' taste and didn't work as the main protein of the dish. I would not order this in the future.

Enchiladas Guadalajaras
My go to order, the sauce is tangy and flavorful. I get the green sauce. I love gorging on this enchilada plate combined with the unlimited chips and different salsas. This is really just tortillas, chicken, cheese, beans and rice, very very simple. Sometimes I get tired of it and want more vegetation. For a change, try ordering it with grilled chicken instead of shredded.

Rosales

Summary: Only been here one time but my experience was very positive.

Chicken Burrito
A classic. Straightforward burrito with chicken, cheese, rice and beans. Comes with a variety of salsas to choose from that do not skimp on the spice. If I was to make one complaint there might be a tad bit too much rice, but that would be nitpicky. Chicken was seasoned well and everything was nice and piping hot. I liked the double sided sear on the tortilla.

Da Michelle

Summary: Expensive for what you get, the food is good though. The pizzas are THIN but good, could be cooked a bit more. The pasta is excellent. The pesto is made with walnuts.

Diavola Pizza
This pizza has everything that I like on it but I just wasn't head over heels for it. The meat is really salty, which I guess is expected for a cured meat. Regardless it felt a bit much.

Arugula and Prosciutto Pizza
If you like arugula and prosciutto you will like this. It is pretty heavy on the cheese. IIRC it has no sauce on it, which to me was a downside, but to others maybe not.

Double cheese margherita pizza
So much cheese on this it was kind of hilarious and too much. If you like mozarella style cheese you will love this. At times my mouth was so full of cheese it was uncomfortable. I take big bites.

Loquita

Summary: Expensive for what you get, the food is low key bad. We ordered a ton of stuff, but did not try the Paella. Maybe my experience would have been different with it. I actively avoid this place if someone suggests it.

Croquetas
This might be the only thing I remember from the restaurant. Everything else was so forgettable that I don't remember it. I studied abroad in Madrid, so I had croquetas fairly often. I didn't like these ones, and honestly I'm not a big fan of croquetas in general. I don't remember exactly how much each cost but it was sort of outrageous for a small little bite. Don't even bother ordering these if you happen to be eating here. I've had better croquetas that came free with my drinks (as they should).

Pipeye's Tacos

Summary: My favorite mexican restuarant in SB. Tortillas made from scratch, meat is good. One thing is that everything on the menu is kind of similar. e.g. corn flour mixture (sometimes wheat) filled with meat, cheese, lettuce, whatever salsa you want. I know this is true for a lot of mexican places but for Pipeye's it is even moreso. Trust me, go there and see. I still love it though. Park at Trader Joes and run across the street, feel alive again.
